Mac look from yesterday...

Yesterday I shopped my own makeup.  I decided to use Mac's Young Punk.  That color is so hard to work with but I made myself do it.  It was a lot of work.  I did this look yesterday so I am not exactly sure what I used so please don't shoot me....

Eyes
Primer Detrivore
Nyx jumbo pencil in black bean on lid
Young punk on lid
Crease Mac Stars N Rockets
I used Mac's bisque to blend out the crease and also put it under my brow bone
I used Kat Von D Sugar Skulls to highlight and used on inner corner of eye.  That color is in her Memento Mori collection I believe.
Purple and silver liners from Urban Decay on lower lash line only and then ran Sugar Skull under that
Dior black mascara

Face
Dior airflash foundation
Lorac blush in Hot and Spicy

Lips
Sweet Lemon lip butter
Mac Viva Glam Gaga lipstick
Lorac Couture Shine lip gloss in Trendsetter

I might have used Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil also....It leaves a lovely finish but I think it makes me itchy..

The Dior foundation is in a spray can.   I found the best way to use it is to apply it to a buffing brush and then kinda stipple it on your face and then blend.  A little goes a long way....It is a great product...

I am pretty sure this was it.....What do you think?  Has anyone tried young punk?

Favorite lip products right now

Scaly dry lips are so annoying when you want your lipstick or gloss to stay put and look nice.  The following products have been working so nice for me and this is how I use them.

Nighttime I use Smiths Minted Rose Lip Balm.  Smelling mint when I go to sleep makes me relax and when I wake up my lips are so nice and soft.  This container was $8.00 but it will last forever and you barely need to apply any.

Next up is The Body Shop Sweet Lemon lip butter.  Wowee this stuff smells like homemade lemon bars that you sprinkle the powdered sugar on.  So amazing and I apply this before my lipstick or gloss and it keeps everything in place.  Very nice product...Can't remember the price though...Couldn't of been too much...

Those are my favorite lip remedies for now...What are yours?

My morning skin care routine

I so struggle with skin care and products.  There is so much out there it makes my head hurt.  Having mature skin is even worse because tons of anti aging products and so expensive.  Should you waste your money to see if they work.  I have pretty much given up so I have kept it basic.  I make my focus on sunscreen.  Here are the products I use every morning.

I use my Clarisonic skin brush
Purpose cleansing wash
Eucerin Sensitive Skin everyday protection face lotion with SPF 30

Occasionally I use mdskincare 4 in 1 facial treatment wipes for normal/oily skin
I also got a sample with my Dior purchase of Capture Totale One Essential repair serum. I have been trying this in the morning too.

I love the Purpose wash.  Very gentle and really cleans.  Works great with my clarisonic  Doesn't seem to dry me out whatsoever.  I am on my third bottle.

The Eucerin lotion works pretty good for me.  I have combo to a little oily skin this time of the year and it doesn't make my face greasy under my foundation so that is a plus.  It does go on white but I do my eyes before my face makeup wise so it has plenty of time to soak in.

4 in 1 facial treatments are ok.  It is a towel that is suppose to take place of washing, toning ,treating and moisturizing your face.  Also suppose to give you a matte finish and help keep oil under control.  I feel they break me out and just this towel isn't enough for me.   Sometimes I will use it like a toner.  I don't give this a very good thumbs up....

The Dior serum I think is working pretty good.  It seems to make my skin brighter.  I will keep trying it.  The downside is that it is $95.00.  That is steep...I don't know about it....

So basically simplicity has been working for me.  I think I am going to keep it that way.  What works for you?

Body products on Etsy

I am always on the hunt for good body products that won't break the bank.  Normally I am so lazy I don't use lotion because in the winter when you wear jeans you have to wait for it to soak in and then I can't pull my pants up....I hate that....but this time of the year I love to smell good.  In search of body products I went to etsy.  I love hand made products.  I purchased two items from Everyday Diva.  She has a lot to choose from trust me and she makes them right before she sends them out.  Very nice indeed!!!

The first item is called Drama Free Cleanser.  This contains aloe and no sulphates.  This I use as a body wash and you can also use for your hair.  I have very hard water and it lathers perfectly.  The scent is called beach and kinda reminds me of suntanning and ocean.  It is a lovely scent.

Next is Ultra Lush Body Butter.  This is whipped beautifully.  It is organic and vegan.  She uses Kokum butter with the Shea butter in this.  I believe it works best on wet skin.  I am not sure why but when I use it on dry skin after I continue to rub it in it is like my skin is peeling.  The only thing I can think of is the kokum butter softens and then hardens and kinda rolls.  The smell is amazing.  This one is cocoa and lime. Amazing stuff.  Since it rolls I use it before bed  and that way it just gets on the sheets.  The bed ends up smelling amazing.

Shower gel is in a 10 oz. bottle and the butter is in a 10 oz. jar.  I highly recommend these products.  I am definitely going to purchase again.  You can visit EverydayDiva.Net to check out her store.  You will love these product.

I believe they were $9.00 a piece.  Not sure...Check it out!!!!
