Another Fun trip to The She Space (About Face)

Well today is the last day before my baby starts school full time so this was our last outing together for the summer. We went to visit Heather at her shop in Naperville. Jules couldn't wait and she drew her a picture. Needless to say Heather was really glad to see us again in such a short amount of time. I love her line of makeup and being able to physically get my hands on it means a lot to me and a lot more trips to Naperville. I only ended up buying some essentials. I wanted a new blush so Heather concocted one for me so it is a custom blend. I also did my custom blend foundation. In need of some highlighting colors Heather helped me pick out a couple and we went with the pressed colors. I ended up getting the whole sample set of the fall colors and man I can make a million looks and I don't know where to begin. It was a joyous time had by all. Here is what I got.....

The pressed from left to right

Twinkling Tapestry which will go great with the golds and neutrals
Prism Blitz which will go with my brights Of course after I took the pictures I dropped this color and broke a chunk out of it...Boo Hoo
My custom powder foundation
My custom blush which has a little bit of everything so I can wear with all colors.
Now I put pictures of the samples so you could see how many are in the collection. I didn't name them but I think most of you have seen swatches.
The collection is called Utterly Fabulous Fall and is made up of 45 colors...45. that is huge..
So right now my head is swimming..........dreamily..
I also signed up for the savvy shoppers club. How could I pass that up when I know how often I will be seeing her. So I saved 15% on my order today...YaY...We were trying to discuss how I will get my makeup in the winter. We decided Heather will deliver it to me....Kidding...
Now I am anxiously waiting the holiday collection...Be still my heart...Heather my whole family loves you....You are the Rockstar!!!!

Head on over to her website and check her stuff out. It really is amazing and so is she!!!!

Little Weekend Trip

This is Buckingham fountain which they have done a lot of work to since the Olympic bid
This is the Willis Tower. To Chicagoans the Sears Tower
This is on the lake...All those boats...Heavenly
My favorite. This Beluga is swimming upside down. I guess they love to swim upside down because it gives them a change of scenery...How cute...

This weekend my husband, my daughter Jules and I went into Chicago for the weekend. We take the train out of Aurora and it takes about an hour to get there on the express train. It was a very busy weekend with the Cubs game, Air and Water show going on. We went to the Shedd Aquarium. I wanted to see so badly the Beluga Whales. We have 7 there with 2 females expecting in November. There is also a young one who is 18 months. They are the most amazing gentle creatures I have ever seen. They seem to be smiling always are just a joy to watch. It was a great time. The water front where we were wasn't busy so we walked along the lake and it was very lovely. Back at the hotel the other 2 went swimming and I headed next store to Nordstroms and got asked if I had time for a makeover by Dior. Of course I had time. We did more fun things later and headed home on Sunday. It is always a great getaway and not far from home but you definitely are in a different world. I am anticipating another weekend in November or December for the holiday. It is so pretty with all the Christmas Decorations. Our city has some spectacular things to see and who knows maybe we will end up with the Olympics. We are in the running.

Smurfs Who Salsa

I have so many nice products to try out I didn't know where to start so I decided to start with About Face. I am having such good luck with the pigments and really enjoying myself.

Crease Smurfs Who Salsa pressed shadow by About Face
Outer Vee and in crease is Proud and Patriotic About Face
Highlight The Mirror Loves Me About Face

Face:
Dior Airflash Spray Foundation in 300
Cheeks Mac Peachykeen
About Face mineral powder foundation lightly over face
About Face cream concealer

Lips:
Aromaleigh Sugar Plum Fairy lip balm
Aromaleigh Shortcake nourishing color creme

I thought this look came out so lovely. I like the quality of the pressed shadow. Great pigment and so easy to use.
The Dior Foundation which is spray on is great. I sprayed it on my brush and blended in. It can even cover tattoos....Great but pricey product.

So this is my look for the day. I hope you enjoy....

My Trip to The She Space All About Face Cosmetics

I know a lot of you are fans of About Face. I knew Heather's shop opened in Naperville so I just had to get there to see all these pigments in person. So my husband, my daughter and I went off to Naperville today. I walked in and Heather who is the owner was wowed at my shadows. I told her they were hers and she was so excited. I had talked to her a while ago so she new me as soon as I told her my name. The shop is adorable with pigments everywhere. You would go insane. I saw all her collections. I had such a hard time deciding what I wanted so we went to the pigment bar and she mixed me up a purple color and a gray. Simply gorgeous. She mixed up some samples for me to try of her liquid mineral foundation and the powder foundation. Heather keeps the formula and will mix it up for you when you need it. I was so overwhelmed by all the products.

The next trip I go she wants to do my eyes. Heather said I have the perfect eyes to do some really cool looks with. I am wanting to look at blushes and the lip products are amazing. I had spent my limit so those items are next trip. When school starts I will plan a visit.

Heather is a big fan of music and chitchatted with my husband about rock bands and music and all kinds of stuff. We could of stayed all day. When I was trying lip gloss I didn't notice but Jules was applying a nice dark lipstick to her whole mouth. Boy was she gorgeous....

I know she has another new collection in the works but I couldn't get a sneak because it is in process.

Heather also has the cutest tote bags, slippers lotion and perfumes in her shop. You all would love her. Very very energetic and loves what she does.

Here is what I brought home.
Left to Right Bandits in Bras, Proud and Patriotic, Smurfs Who Salsa, Custom Purple, Custom Gray, Stick concealer in Medium, Pencilmein liner in Jet Sparks (has silver glitter in it) Highest Society, Make Some Noise(free colors) Liquid and Powder Foundations, The Mirror Loves Me(free color). So I did rather well. I hope you all enjoy your About Face Products. I know that Heather appreciates everyone. I think I made her day and I know she made mine. We had a blast. Whoever can get there really should. You would have a great time. The pictures loaded backwards so the colors would go from bottom to top....sorry....

I was going to The She Space for a visit today so I put together an eye look with some of her colors. I walked into the shop and she said WOW! I love those eyes. It was a lot of blending but I was very pleased with the vividness of the colors. They still look as great now as when I put them on earlier.

Heather told me my eyes looked wonderful and aren't even photo shopped. I don't know how to use any of those things that is why I try so hard to do this my self with out altering the look on the computer. Maybe that is why I am proud I am finally getting the hang of this. Does anyone have any of these colors? What do you think?

Zoya Polish

I have been trying out nail polish. I never really know what works the best. I have used OPI mainly and I have tried Fingerpaints. Miss K from Aromaleigh suggested that I give Zoya a try. She said their customer service was great so I did order 2 polishes to try. Then I did the Twitter follow with Zoya and received 3 polishes. So now I have a bunch to try out. The two I have tried are Paz which is a very bright creamy orange and Trixie which is a very glittery silver.

I used the orange on my toes but you won't see the toes because I don't like feet.....
The silver I used on my fingers.

These polishes seem to go on nicely and they start to set up pretty fast. It doesn't seem to get goopy either. We will give this a test run. I did use a speed dry top coat on top. It was one that I bought from Sally Beauty Supply.

I do not use gloves normally. My OPI chipped pretty fast the last time I used it. The SpaRitual was fantastic so I hope this last a long time.

I do was dishes, clean the house mow the lawn and wash my hands a lot so I am hoping this will last for me. I did purchase one of the matte colors and you aren't suppose to use a base coat or top coat with those so those aren't suppose to last as long so I am waiting to use that.

In the picture of my fingers I didn't clean my nails up. I usually don't mess them too bad so I just let the excess come off on its own. Who else got their polishes and what do you think?

Neutral Look with Aromaleigh Mattes

This may be shocking to everyone. I don't do too many neutrals but after see Decorative Divas Pinup look it made me want to try a more neutral look. I used all Aromaleigh matte colors. I will say that I use expensive brands also and their mattes will not blend out right with a primer. The Aromaleigh blended effortlessly with the primer. I love these colors. I have always been tempted to buy the ones I am using. These are free samples I had gotten with some past orders. The lips are samples too from Aromaleigh. I am in love with this all. I hope you like it.
All colors today are Aromaleigh unless stated otherwise.

Aromaleigh Glam Glitter Review

I received a free sample of Aromaleigh Rocks Glam Glitter in Oscillate with my last order. I haven't' tried many of the glitters. So I was wearing green today so I thought I would give it a try. I ended up really liking it.

You need to use something to make it stick like a sealant. What I did was spray a brush with my Mac Charged water and dip the brush in the baggie. I then patted it into my crease and a little on my lid. This gave a really nice effect to my shadows today.

I had planned on mowing today but it rained so I then did my makeup. It did end up clearing off so I went out and mowed and it was hot. I wondered what my poor glitter would look like. To my surprise the glitter looked just as good as it did when I first applied it. So bottom line is don't be afraid to use the glitter. It comes in a great variety of color and adds some bam to your look. I love it...

Oscillate is a seafoam green with lots of sparkles!!!

Product Updates

I just wanted to tell you how a couple of the products I was trying out are working.

SpaRitual Nail Laquer

My nails look like I just polished them and it has been more than a week. There are no nicks they are not peeling at all. They look great. I am kinda sad that I will be removing to use a new color this week. So this line is definitely a must for me.

Cures by Avance' age defyer eye cream

Absolutely love this product. You can use it on the whole eye and it absorbs quickly and isn't greasy. My eyes seem to look a little firmer to me. I really love this product and I will be buying this for sure.

M2 Skin Recovery Moisturizer
After trying this for a week I ordered the full size. Absolutely love this moisturizer. It really has improved the look and texture of my face. It looks brighter and even and less breakouts. It contains Mandelic and Malic acids. The full size cost me 30.00 and it is worth every penny. i was so glad to see it didn't cost a fortune.

So these are staples in my daily routine now. I wanted to share this with you and maybe you will check these products out. I believe that Glow.com has a few of these items and the skintore.com does. Check around for the best price....

SpaRitual Nail Lacquer

I painted my nails last night with one of the products I received to try. This is a nail lacquer by SpaRitual and the color of this is Airhead and it is a sheer pink color. This nail of nail products is a vegan line which means it is free of DBP, Formaldehyde and Toluene. The bottles are made out of recycled glass and they use Mica for for shimmer instead of fish scales. They offer a nice variety of shades and isn't suppose to chip or fade.

I applied two coats over a base coat. I was surprised by how pretty the color is. I thought it would be so light but it really has a nice pink to it. I call it a girlie pink which I love. I also applied a top coat of speed dry. I liked the consistency of the product. It wasn't runny or goopy and the brush is a nice size so the polish applied evenly and also each coat dried pretty fast. I am very pleased with this polish and I will be checking out the different colors and purchasing again. This color will be my go to. I like girlie polish!!!!

Product Reviews

So yesterday I was in heaven because I got my beautyfix products. It put a highlight on my day. The products are great sizes and I wanted to dive in right away. So I got started. Here are some of the products that I tried out so far.

Bliss The Youth As We Know It Concentrate

I am always looking for some kind of skin treatment so when I saw this was in there I was excited. This is suppose to be an extraordinary anti aging concentrate.
After you cleanse and tone your skin you apply 2 to 3 pumps of this product and then follow with moisturizer. It is suppose to give you a luminous glow and plumper smoother looking skin.
I seemed to have a little glow. It smells nice too. You are suppose to use 2 times a day.
It went on nicely and soaked in. It is not greasy feeling at all. I like this product.

Cures By Avance' Age Defyer Eye

Right now I don't have an eye cream I know shame on me so I am glad I received this product. You use it under eye and then on brow bone and blend into crease. It is not greasy and non irritating to the eye. It soaked in well also. You use this twice a day. It helps to rid fine lines and hydrate the skin. This product I really like and know that I will purchase in the future.

Degree Woman Body Mist in Sexy Intrigue

At first you think Degree is a deodorant. Is this going to smell like deodorant too? To my surprise it is actually refreshing . It has a nice soft smell. Not overpowering at all. I spray this on a couple of times a day. It smells of Jasmine, Rose and Vanilla which I like all three. I tend to like body sprays in the summer. Perfume is more for fall and winter and I don't want bugs swarming me when I am outside. My daughter also tried this and was surprised it smelled really nice too. This is a great product.

ME! Bath Shower Sherbet Exfoliating Sugar Scrub in Summer Rain

This is awesome. At first I thought it was kinda weird. When you put it in your hand it is like putty. I could actually roll it into a ball. I have very hard water. No water softener and well water makes for very hard water. To my surprise this actually gave me a nice lather and scrub. Smells so nice I didn't want to get out of the shower. This product exfoliates and contains Vitamin E and Jojoba oil to give you soft skin. It is gentle enough to use daily and this will definitely be a staple for me. It comes in 8 different flavors. I love this and will have to hide it from the rest of the family...

Pur-Lisse Pur-Lip comfort

This is a daily lip nourisher. You can use it for a primer before your lipstick or at night for a night treatment or like me any time during the day. This is a great little product to have sitting next to you. This is a petroleum free product also. It contains Blue Lotus, White Tea, Mango Butter, Shea Butter and Vitamin E to give you such soft comfortable lips. Another great product..

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

This product is a weightless mist that you spray on your face when you are completely done with your makeup to set it. It is oil free and paraben free. This will not cause your makeup to run or smear either. It is great to use all year long but especially in the summer due to the humidity. It is for all skin types also. I am not sure if I like this or not. I think it makes me look a little shiny. I will have to try it a few more times to really make up my mind on this one.
I like more of a matte finish not a shiny one.

Sparitual Instinctual Moisturizing Lotion

This is an organic body lotion that contains organic olive, sesame and soybean oils. Aloe vera, Shea and Avocado Butters and Ginger essential oil. I found this lotion to be really light. It soaked in really fast. The ginger smell is great but strong at first. To be the ginger smell fades to fast. I want to be able to smell it throughout the day without reapplying it.. It is definitely not greasy either. This product is just ok for me.

So there you have it. These are some really great products and items I have never heard of either. I have some more products that I will be trying eventually. I will also give more updates to these products. Check some of these out. I think they are worth it...
