Memories....

Going thru my old discs the other day and found this song that was played at my daughters 8th grade graduation.  Mind you she is now 20 and in her second year of college, but this opened the flood gates.  Still get so worked up.  We had to turn in baby pictures of our kids and they did a slide show of them to this song...I hope you dance by Lee Ann Womack.  Cried thru the service.  Remembered it well.

This year was her first year away from home for college.  She did her first year at a community college.  She is 6 hours away from home.  Now let me tell you we have always had a love hate relationship.  No matter how mad I get she is my daughter and I do love her.  We were and still are pretty strict parents. Not too much crap gets by us and if it does she does tell us thank goodness.  All in all her grades were fantastic this year.  She did her part of partying but comes with the territory.  2 weeks and she will be home for the summer.  This will be huge for me because it was a major adjustment for me her being gone.  I started crying in June and she didn't leave til around the end of August.  I believe this was the toughest thing I had to do was let her go on her own.  A little bit of depression set in this year and I made some bad decisions and friended people I thought I could trust and would be there for me...well, I was so wrong on that aspect of things...So, anyway...things have gotten better and she has her summer planned out.  Job and summer school.  Then away again in August.  Kids are amazing.  We feel as parents we have really done a good job with her and hope we do the same with the youngest.  It is such hard aggravating work at times but the rewards are unmeasurable....Have a great day!  Hug you kids and your loved ones...

Another outfit of the day!

Ok....this is usually how I dress to go help my friend out at her boutique.  Need to look presentable when customers or friends stop by.  I am wearing some items from her shop.  The belt buckle and the tank are from her shop and the leather bracelet and one charm bracelet.  The other bracelet is my tiffany bracelet which I am in love with. It is chilly today so I put on a shrug that I had purchased at Maurice's back in the fall.  Jeans I got down south at a country western shop called Mckinneys.  Oh man do they have the stuff.  Tons of cowboy boots, clothes and saddles.  I want a saddle just to display in the house.  The smell of leather is awesome....My shoes of course or Fergie..She does killer shoes...Makeup was Lorac which I don't care for too much and lips Atomic orange from Kiss My Sass....  So anyway this is how I normally look when I need to hang out at the store....Thanks for being interested in my clothing...I need to do some more shopping.....Oh and I actually twisted my bangs back today...Oh hooray for a new look!!

Outfit for the day....

The Beautiful Baroque in Babylon likes my fashion sense so here is just a quick look at what I wore today...More casual today.  I have been wearing wedge sandals every day but today it was raining and I didn't want to get them ruined.  Don't mind the crazy hair and stupid look..I was aiming for the clothes....All I wore was a cute Farm Girl t shirt, tattered jeans with a black blingy belt and tan cowboy boots...also for jewelry I wore my Tiffany bracelet.  That was the extent of it....What do you think?

My blog...

Thanks for letting me know Peach that it wasn't working...I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on....I am terrible with computer stuff and everytime I switch templates I mess stuff up....so I left myself a comment...Thanks for bringing it to my attention....it should be working.....

Tarina Tarantino Palette

While out yesterday I stopped into Sephora really to pick up a  new mascara.  Obviously I looked around and saw some great items out there.  I ended up with the Tarina Tarantino palette.  At first I didn't see it.  The cover was closed.  I made another round thru the store and stopped and looked again and then opened it and said Yes this is what I want.  Lovely pretty colors.  Soft and elegant.  Had to have it.  Also, I ended up picking up MUFE Smoky Lash mascara.  Like it very much.  The palette was 35 or 38 and the mascara was 24.  Man they really want me to try out the Temptu.  I have heard about it but I don't think I would want to spend that kind of money on a machine like that.  Maybe I will try it but I know I won't buy one.  So, anyway, here is my look for the day...Hope you like....

Softer side with Kat Von D

As I love the edgy and bright looks, today I just felt like I wanted to do something more soft but again I had to have that red lip.  For some reason I am becoming attached to red.  Not normal for me.  I went out shopping.  Promised the little one we would hit Barnes and Nobles....my fav bookstore but that we had to stop into the new Sephora we just got in the area.  Of course how can you be in Sephora and not stop in.  Come on...really?  In need of nothing I ended up with a couple of things which I will post about in another blog...Right now here is what I wore today....

Lid Kat Von D Agatha Pink on lid
Crease Meditation
Went into outer crease with Mac Soft Brown

There is my soft side today using Kat Von D...Her palettes are really nice but I looked at a couple today and the colors just looked similar to what I already have so I passed on it.  Really I want for nothing but I always end up with something....Shame on me....Anyone get anything new?

Tokyomilk

Just a little blurb on a few products I picked up at my friend's boutique where I help out.  She just got this line in and yes I have heard of it and seen it in Allure magazine I do believe.  So trendy and edgy.  Scents that are so unique.  I really really love it.  She got the skull cosmetic bags in for me because I am skull crazy...So,,I picked up the cosmetic bag which is floral with of course a skull in the middle..Lip Balm which is Sweet Cream cute little jar and the scent is something I would love to eat.  My favorite is the perfume...Oh man all the scents are good but this one was it for me....It is called Let Them Eat Cake.  Sugar Cane, Coconut milk, Vanilla Orchid, White Musk...oh man it is amazing...combination of these scents is just so delectable to me.  Love this line of products and I am sure I will be purchasing more.

The cosmetic bag 14.50 Dead Sexy is the name of the bag
The lip balm 10.00 for .22 oz
The perfume 28.00 for 1 oz

Coral and Red...

Today on Twitter I saw a youtube video tweeted by Grey with this catwalk look.  So I got the color concept from that.  Of course I only did the eyes and I didn't do lashes because I didn't feel up to messing with them today...Also I am going to try and do a post on my Mac stash.  Someone wanted to see it so I am going to try and work on it...Here is the colors I used for this look...

Eyes
Detrivore primer on whole eye
Nyx Jumbo pencil in Cherry blended up into crease
On lid Medusa's Coral Reef eye dust blended into crease
Really blended the color out...I also used a MUFE matte neutral shade to help blend out the upper lid
Loreal Hip cream liner in black on top lash line
Bottom lash line used Mac New Fixation
Next took Mac Cloudburst from the Heatherette collection...black with blue glitter and ran that along the outer half and winged it up to the upper lash line.  Went over that with the cream liner.
Applied YSL Burgundy mascara

Face
Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturizer
Benefit Get even powder
ELF concealer
Milani blush in Dolce Pink

Lips

I am really loving the Milani blush...very pretty and easy to work with..Loreal cream liner is pretty good but it seems to crumble when you go to add another layer...don't like that much.  Overall a easy but intense look...Anyone else have some sort of intense look that they have done or are planning to do?

Love my purples....(purple people eater)

A little bug got in my ear this morning when I heard MUFE.  I only have two colors from the line and sometimes they are hard to work with being they are matte shades.  So, I decided to get out my Purple MUFE  shade and put in a look.  I was wanting to do purple today so this worked out pretty well.  Actually, I was impressed with how this shade worked today.  Very happy.  Here is what I used:

Eyes
Too Faced Lock Down in Jailbait
Kiss My Sass in Pinky Swear on lid
MUFE No 92 in crease
Outer lid and crease Volta from Lost in Makeupland
Back over crease with No 92
Blended with Aromaleigh tutu
Used Victorias Secret Hyper Gloss Eye Shimmer in Night Lights under brow bone to corner of eye
Loreal cream liner in black to line upper lash line
Lower lash line I used Hi Fi Shadow Fix and the applied MUFE 92 on outer bottom lash line to middle and then finished with Tutu
Mascara YSL Burgundy

Face
Loreal Face Primer
Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturizer
Mac Get away bronze blush
Benefit Get Even powder dusted all over face lightly
Dustly lightly Lost in Makeupland Highlighter in English Rose focusing on cheeks and around eye area

Lips
Burts Bees chapstick

Wish I could capture the look irl...everything always looks so much better....
The purple people eater had just come to mind because when I first did my hair purple someone I knew told me they were a purple people eater....I hadn't heard that in forever...just popped in my head....

My Gold look!!!

Well, this morning I was browsing thru my favorite magazine for the hundreth time...Nylon magazine.  I came across a look I really wanted to do.  The colors they featured of course I didn't have so I improvised with what I had and I feel I did quite a good job for what I wanted to achieve.  Maybelline shadow trio in Bronze Haze are the colors for the eyes that I wanted to use...combo of gold, copper and chocolate...simply divine.  Gold lips I passed on and used pink instead.  My own take on the look....Check out Nylon Magazine April edition online.  Awesome mag out there...the look is actually a Spring 11 Rodarte look...

Elf Cosmetics Brights Collection

Yesterday while I was in Target I decided to scan the makeup aisle.  Well, I came across the ELF products and decided to pick up a few things.  For 4.99 I got this brights collection with 32 colors...Colors I myself would use quite a bit since I am a bright girl.  My complaint is that the packaging is crap or I am just a moron.  I can not get this palette open for anything.  My husband has to do it.  Such a pain.  Obviously there are no color names so I will just tell you what I used....

Eyes
Benefit stay don't stray primer
Detrivore primer
On lid Bright green in the second row and the dark green right next to it on the outer lid
Crease Gold Glittery color right next to the dark green
I went over the lid with a pale gold color that is the first color on the top row
Highlighted with gold 5th color in top row
Lined upper lash line with Elf Midnight cream eyeliner with a bent liner brush from Elf
Water line UD Gunmetal
Bottom lashline primer the gold glittery color and some of the light green
YSL Burgundy mascara

Face
Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturizer
Benefit Get Even Powder
Elf concealer in beige
Cheeks Lorac blush in hot and spice

Lips
Revlon colorstay mineral lipglaze in Perrenial Pink

After all day the shadows stayed pretty darn nice.  Surprising for a drugstore brand.  No creasing either.  The lipcolor seems to last quite a while to but it does stink.  So, all and all money worth spending.  I am happy with these items.  Anyone else tried any ELF recently?

Soft and lovely

So, for today's look I wanted pink and bronze...Believe it or not I don't have a whole lot of pink...but leave it to my Aromaleigh colors to lead the way..This look turned out so pretty in real life I just loved it.  So read along to see what I used for the entire look...

Eyes
Benefit Stay don't stray primer
Detrivore primer over top of that
Aromaleigh Edie on lid
Aromaleigh ooops! pretty brownish color in the crease
Aromaleigh ooops! another pinkinish brown color to blend and highlight
Aromaleigh Orchideous from the spells collection I ran under brow bone to tear duct
Top lash line I applied Loreal Hip cream eyeliner in black
Lower lashline I applied Detrivore primer with a brush and then went over lash line with the brown ooops and ran some Edie to tear duct and under the ooops color
Water line I used UD Gunmetal
YSL mascara in plum or burgundy..

Face
Dior Airflash spray foundation
Benefit Get Even Powder
Mac concealer under eyes
Blush Dior Rose Brazilia

Lips
Rosebud salve
Lime Crime lipstick in Great Pink Planet
Beaute lip gloss in Skin Trade

I have to say I really love the Hip cream liner.  It stays put and you need such a tiny bit to do the whole lash line.  All and All I am happy with how this turned out today...

Thinking about a face primer.  I feel I need one but don't want to spend the 28.00 on Benefits...so I am on the hunt for one that controls oil and priced reasonably. Lip primer too...What does everyone wear and what type of pink do you like to wear if any?

Look using colors from a couple of my UD Book of Shadows....

Well,,,,not such a perfect day today.  My youngest is home sick with a wicked fever and she is miserable.  Poor baby.  Her cheeks are so red I feel for her.  Anyway, I did have time to do a look and I am very pleased with how it turned out.  So, pretty.  I saw a similar look on makeupgeek and got the idea from that.  I didn't have the same colors but I used some that are similar.  Keep reading to see what I used..

Eyes
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer
Lid Alice from The Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows
Crease Queen from The Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows
Highlight Uzi and on inner corner of lid from the UD loves NYC Book of Shadows
Lined upper lash line with UD Zero liner
Bottom lash line applied Stay Don't Stray primer and lined with Queen.  Inner corner I used Uzi
YSL Burgundy mascara

Face
Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturizer applied with foundation brush then went back over with a sponge
over that I dusted Benefit Get Even pressed powder
Mac concealer under the eyes and blended down

Cheeks
Ulta Infatuation
Ulta Karma on apples of cheeks

Lips
Rosebud salve
Mac B Babe lipstick
Mac Petite Indulgence Cremesheen Glass

Whoolah!!!  I am really turning into a Benefit lover.  I really love the primer.  My shadows applied smoothly and blended really easy.  Nice product..

The tinted foundation seems to cover really well.  The color is darker than you think it would be.  A tiny bit goes a long way.

Get Even powder gives you a nice even finish.  I like it.  It seems to control shine pretty good.

I want to get the Dr. Feelgood concealer balm but it is 28.00.  Ouch....I need a primer that will control oil and I guess that one does. We will have to wait.  I picked up Loreal Hip cream eyeliner.  Never tried before and am interested in seeing how well it works....Has anyone used any of these products?
I used my new little canon camera too.  Takes some nice pictures and is so easy to use.  My other one you have to get the dock out and plug everything in and takes forever.  This one I just plug into the computer and done...
Have a great day!!!!
